Why Get a Campus Rec Membership?
Membership to the Campus Rec Center offers a wide range of unique experiences that promote physical and mental wellness to help you recognize your potential.
Note: A valid YSU ID must be provided for facility access.
- Students (At least 9 credit hours): Membership is covered by the Campus Recreation fee in the cost of tuition.
- Students (Under 9 credit hours): $60 per semester.
- Only students APPROVED by the College Credit Plus (CCP), English Language Institute (ELI), Youngstown Rayen Early College (YREC), or the Police Officer Training Academy programs are permitted to use the Rec Center. These students may require additional waiver forms. Please select the applicable drop-down menu below for the category you would like more information about.
Dates of Access to the Facility:
- First day of the eight-week session to the last day of the eight-week session.
- Guest Pass Policy: AP students can sponsor guests for a daily fee of $12.00 per day.
- Only students APPROVED by the College Credit Plus (CCP), English Language Institute (ELI), Youngstown Early College (YEC), or the Police Officer Training Academy programs are permitted to use the Rec Center. These students may require additional waiver forms. Please see below for details pertaining to your category.
- Academic Partnerships (AOP)
As an AP student enrolled at YSU, you have access to purchase a membership to the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center (which includes the climbing wall, strength and conditioning area, indoor track and group fitness classes) on the first day of the eight-week session to the last day of the eight-week session.
Daily Fee: $12
Session Fee (1st day of the session to the last day of the same session): $35
To use the facility or any department programs, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older (must show state issued photo ID that includes birth date for age verification)
- Be registered for at least one hour of the session in which you wish to purchase a day pass or membership. All programs must be registered and completed within the paid membership session. Membership eligibility begins the first day of the registered session.
- Register for Rec Center Membership (in-person) at the Campus Recreation Administrative Office on or after the first day of classes with the following:
- YSU Photo ID
- State issued ID for age verification
- College Credit Plus (CCP)
As a CCP student enrolled at YSU, you are eligible to purchase a membership to the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center (which includes the climbing wall, strength and conditioning area, indoor track, group fitness classes, checkout locks, equipment and towels) beginning the first day of classes for the semester of enrollment. Membership options include:
Daily Fee: $12
Semester (1st day to the 1st day of the following semester): $70
To use the facility or participate in any department programs, you must:
- Be registered for at least 1 semester hour of the term in which you want to purchase a day pass or membership. For example, you must be registered for Fall semester for Fall access and Spring semester for Spring access.
- Membership eligibility begins the first Monday of the registered semester. Register for Rec Center Membership (in-person) at the Campus Recreation Administrative Office.
- Obtain and present a YSU Photo ID (this MUST be a vertical ID specific to the CCP Program).
- Be 16 years of age or older (must show state issued photo ID that includes birth date for age verification)
- Complete and return a Facility Access Waiver for building access and Climbing Wall Waiver for climbing wall use on the first day of classes or during the registered semester.
Students under 18 must have a parent or guardian signature on the waiver. Students with a Fall waiver on file do not need to fill out a new waiver for Spring and Summer semester. These students need to visit the Administrative Office in the Rec Center with their vertical YSU ID and State ID for age verification on or after the first Monday of classes so that YSU student status can be verified with a current waiver on file.
New waivers must be completed every Fall semester.
CCP students are not permitted to purchase Guest Passes.
- Youngstown Rayen Early College (YREC)
As a YREC student enrolled at YSU, you are eligible for access to the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center (which includes the climbing wall, strength and conditioning area, indoor track, group fitness classes) beginning the first day of classes for the semester of enrollment.
To use the facility or participate in department programs, you must:
- Be registered for at least 1 semester hour of the term in which you wish to use it. For example, you must be registered for Fall semester for Fall access and Spring semester for Spring access. Access begins the first day of the registered semester.
- Have a YSU Picture ID (this MUST be a vertical ID specific to the YREC program)
- Be 16 years of age or older (must show state issued photo ID that includes birth date for age verification)
- Complete and return a Facility Access waiver for building access to your program coordinator. Those students under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian signature on the waiver.
Students with a Fall waiver on file do not need to fill out a new waiver for Spring and Summer semester. - Have a YSU Picture ID

- Faculty and Staff
Cost: $120 per year
Faculty and staff can choose to pay their membership fee upfront or choose payroll deduction.
By choosing payroll deduction, the faculty or staff member will pay $20 of their overall membership fee upfront then choose to have $25 deducted from each of the next 4 consecutive pay periods to complete payment of the membership fee.
Incentive Opportunities:
- Faculty and staff can use a one-week free trial to try out the facility and its offerings.
- Eligible to receive $50 back upon swiping into the Rec Center 90 times within a calendar year.

Purchasing a Membership
Memberships to the Rec Center can be purchased in the Administrative Office which is located just off the lobby across from the front desk.
Memberships can be renewed online at store.reccenter.ysu.edu
Campus Recreation does not accept cash.
Acceptable forms of payment include:

Important Reminders for All Members Regarding Usage of the Rec Center
You MUST present your YSU ID to gain access to the facility. Proper athletic attire must be worn while using the facility. If it is your first-time using the facility, please feel free to request a tour and/or a new-user orientation offered by trained campus recreation student employees.
Our lockers are for daily use only and locks are available at the Equipment Issue counter. Lockers can also be rented per semester or annually. Don’t forget to check out the fitness programs that are available throughout the week at no additional charge. The Andrew Student Recreation and Wellness Center also offers personal training by certified trainers (fees apply).
