When do I refer a student to Academic Coaching?

You should refer a student to Academic Coaching when:

• The student appears overwhelmed by academic responsibilities
• The student’s exam results are below demonstrated potential
• The student’s study habits are not producing the desired outcome
• The student’s effort exceeds current academic results
• The student would benefit from structure, accountability, and academic support

Faculty Referral Form

Once a student is referred, an academic coach initiates contact and arranges an appointment to discuss the student's academic needs and goals. 

How does Academic Coaching differ from Tutoring Services?

Academic coaching provides students with:

• Individualized time management strategies
• Development of effective, personalized study techniques
• Targeted exam preparation and test-taking strategies
• Academic goal setting and structured action planning
• Ongoing accountability and progress monitoring
• Growth mindset coaching and academic performance development

It does not provide students with content-based learning. If a student is in need of assistance for course content specifically, please refer them to Tutoring Services.

• Monday - Thursday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM
• Friday, 8:00AM - 4:00PM
