New User Orientation


Offered Year-Round! Not sure how to get started on our fitness equipment? Please take advantage of our general new user orientation which introduces participants to the basic layout and proper use of the cardiovascular, selectorized, plate-loaded and free weight equipment. This orientation also offers individuals a variety of circuit training routines for those who enjoy using a combination of selectorized machines, plate-loaded and free weight exercises to achieve a full-body strength workout. For participating in an orientation and trying to improve your knowledge of fitness, you will receive a free T-Shirt! Ask a Strength & Conditioning Staff member for details.

Modified Orientation


Offered Year-Round! Drop In for this orientation, geared to any individual who needs special consideration when working out. A trained staff member will explain and demonstrate exercise modifications to assist and meet unique needs of all users. Ask a Strength & Conditioning Staff member for details. For participating in an orientation and trying to improve your knowledge of fitness, you will receive a free T-Shirt!

 


Extra Equipment Orientation


This orientation will provide participants with an understanding of how to utilize the equipment located in our Ab/SPINNING area. Exercises are included for the following pieces of equipment: Reebok Core Board, Resist-A-Ball, Bosu, Medicine Ball, and Body Bar. Ask a Strength & Conditioning Staff member for details.

Printouts of these circuits are available in the Strength and Conditioning area. If you have any questions regarding the exercises or equipment used in these circuits, please see a staff member in the Strength and Conditioning area.


Personal Training


Personal training offers you the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a Certified Personal Trainer to develop a fitness program specifically designed to fit your needs and interests. Our focus is on education so you are able to continue your exercise program independently and enjoy the lifelong benefits of regular physical activity.

YSU for Recovery:


Attention all YSU students: There is a group on campus that you can talk to about any problems you or someone you know may be having with addiction. YSU for Recovery group is here at Youngstown State University. These will be closed meetings for YSU students in recovery from addiction.
