We offer a range of training opportunities to support faculty in developing effective, engaging and innovative courses. 
 

Department-Specific Training

Address the unique needs of your department with customized training sessions. We can partner with department chairs or program directors to identify areas and goals. These sessions can cover department-wide challenges, best practices, and tailored solutions such as:

  • Standardizing course design across the department.
  • Exploring tools and techniques for discipline-specific challenges.
  • Sharing effective online teaching strategies among peers.

We can also incorporate a short instructional design or technology training session into your regular department meeting. We will adapt the content for a 15-minute spotlight or a 45-minute training session. 

Complete this training request form to schedule an initial conversation with an instructional designer. This initial meeting will confirm training details and schedule the official department training.

 

Instructional Design/Course Design Assistance

Upgrade your Blackboard skills with training sessions from beginner to advanced features. Topics can include: 

  • Setting up your course organization with modules and folders and uploading your syllabus
  • Incorporating engagement tools such as discussion boards, journals, and groups.
  • Creating and grading tests and assignments
  • Creating rubrics and aligning assessments to the rubrics
  • Setting up your gradebook and submitting grades to Banner
