Alumni Legacy Scholarship
YSU has a rich tradition of family attendance and graduation. The legacy of a child following in the footsteps of a parent/guardian toward attaining a degree from the same alma mater is indeed a cherished tradition. The Office of Alumni Engagement offers five $1,000 Legacy Scholarships to children of YSU alumni. (Learn about the 2022 scholarship recipients here.) The application may be completed online and must be submitted no later than March 1, 2023. Email alumni@ysu.edu for more information.

Colleen Clayton, a 2011 graduate, will lead a discussion about her novel What Happens Next at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 30 in Maag Library on the YSU canpus. Alumni DoubleHeader Basketball Dinner
More than 100 alumni and friends gathered when the men’s and women’s basketball teams played Cleveland State on Dec. 29. The newly-renovated West Deck in Beeghly Center was the perfect spot to connect and enjoy a Belleria dinner between games.
Pete's Pride
Thank you to all of our Pete’s Pride volunteers for their help in 2022! Volunteers were present at events on campus and in the community, such as the United Way of Youngstown and Mahoning County’s Satur-Day of Caring and Youngstown Cityscape’s annual Streetscape event. Pete’s Pride was represented not only in the Mahoning Valley, but among the alumni chapters. The CSRA-Columbia Alumni Chapter volunteered together at the Camp Sertoma Golf Tournament and the Aiken Steeplechase this fall.
Volunteers also helped write hundreds of personalized postcards to prospective YSU students. With their help, 93 new Penguins are now enrolled in classes at YSU! Postcard writers are still needed for this year’s campaign. For more information and to sign up to be a Postcard writer, visit alumni.ysu.edu/volunteer.
