The Disaster Recovery project is taking place in two phases.
Phase I - Completed during the Summer of 2014.
- ITS developed an on campus site that will house the new backup library that will significantly down size the space needed for the tape library.
- In addition, one of the University’s core routers will be located in the new site, as well as redundant servers for the University web site etc.
- The new tape library is in sync and the old tape library was decommissioned.
Phase II - In Progress
- In spring 2016 YSU signed a “Disaster Recovery Co-location Memo of Understanding” with the University of Akron. ITS intends to install a mirror backup of critical data at the remote site and have it operational by December of 2016.
