When the whole family is around, there is plenty of fun to be had! Make your Family Weekend experience one that is specifically tailer to your wants. There is no firm agenda, it’s what you make it!
Become an explorer and adventure around our wonderful campus. Never get lost when you have the map, just search for your event. Parking is provided at The Wick Ave Parking Deck(M30),Wick Ave, Youngstown, OH 44502, indicated with a “V” on the Campus map. Parking is $5 a day per car.

Every year, a special Family Unit is selected to be recognized on the field after the 1st quarter by the university president and given a $500 shopping spree at our YSU bookstore. Do you want an opportunity for your family to be recognized? To qualify, submissions must be made from a YSU Housing & Residence Life “resident” who currently lives in one of our residence halls. Be sure to complete a submission before 5pm on Friday, 10/04/2024 to be considered. Winners will be informed of their selection a few days before the game.
Family Weekend Football Game/Tickets
Are you living within one of our residence halls (Lyden, Cafaro, Kilcawley, Wick, or Weller) and you/family are football fan(s) and want to cheer our Guins to victory? Join us for the game against South Dakota on Saturday 10/19/24. Pre-register yourself and your family for a chance to receive “Free” football tickets to that game while supplies last. For this opportunity, a completed RSVP is required, and the form can be found on the “RSVP” tile. Registration for this opportunity ends at 5pm on 10/04/2024! Tickets can be purchased after 10/04/2024 for $20 when you call the Athletics Ticket Office at 3309411978 with a VISA, Mastercard, or Discover Card. On game day (10/19), tickets will be $25. Jump into all the fun at the tailgate lots before you head into the game for kickoff at 6pm. If you have any youth (grade 8 and under)) that might want to participate in the “High-Five” Line, meet between Section 1 and 2 on the sideline a half-hour prior to kickoff.Email John Vargo at jwvargo@ysu.edu for further details.
Thinking about participating in this year's Family Weekend and events? Be sure to complete an RSVP and include all members participating to better prepare for your arrival. This will help notify us about the activities you anticipate on attending so that we can be ready for the entire family. If you are participating in 5th Quarter, be sure to bring/show your YSU ID to receive discounts! Registration ends at 5pm on Friday, 10/04/2024.

Don’t let hunger set in when you have the best food Youngstown has to offer. Visit downtown for a vast array of food options and cuisines. If you don’t want to leave campus, no need to! You can enjoy multiple food options within Kilcawley Center, or visit our campus Christman Dining Hall and take advantage of your YSU student meal plan. Students with meal plan swipes and /or Flex & Pete’s Points, can swipe additionally to include the rest of the family. With all the wonderful and delicious food options available, we are sure your family dinner will be one to remember! If you plan to eat at our on-campus dining hall, please be sure to complete the registration within the “Family Weekend RSVP” tile.
