The Senate Teaching and Learning Committee, in partnership with the Institute for Teaching and Learning, enlisted the assistance of Associate Professor, Lucy Kerns, PhD, Statistics, to conduct aggregate psychometric testing to evaluate the validity and reliability of the tool. Updates were made to the tool in 2025.
Tool reorganization (2025): As a result of Dr. Kerns' analysis, the Student Course Feedback survey was reorganized into scale areas: (1) Syllabus and Policies, (2) Course Content, and (3) Feedback and Support. View the reorganized Student Course Feedback Survey.
Addition of the Advance Ohio Higher Education Act Questions (2025): Three questions were added to the tool as a part of the Advance Ohio Higher Education Act:
Removal of Teaching/Virtual Assistant Question Series (2025): Based on the analysis and the Senate Teaching and Learning Committee's discussion, the decision was made to remove this series of questions from the main survey tool. Instructors with teaching/virtual assistants may choose to add these questions optionally. Review how to add item bank questions to the survey (PDF or video instructions).
