    YSU – Defined by Our Success By now, most of you have probably heard that I will be stepping aside as president of YSU starting Feb. 1, 2023. In my announcement to campus and the news media, I thanked our students, faculty, staff, Board of Trustees, the YSU Foundation and, of course, alumni for their kindness and support during my more than 25 years on the YSU campus. One of the items we also emphasized in the announcement was that there’s still much important work to be done, and that we will continue to work as hard as ever, seven days a week, to ensure the ongoing success of this

    1970s 1980s 1990s 2000s 2010s 2020s ’70s Henri Hall, 1971, bachelor of Marketing/Advertising, was named Volunteer of the Year at the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in May in Benton Harbor, Mich. Henri, a resident of Lincoln Township, Mich., has served as volunteer services chair of the tournament since 2018 and has volunteered for five championships. Hall was featured in a front-page story of the Herald-Palladium newspaper in St. Joseph, Mich.     “The most generous and supportive donors in the nation” Donors to YSU continue to raise the bar, as the bar graph shows. YSU and the YSU Foundation received a record $24.1 million in gifts in the 2021-22 fiscal year, the largest one-year total in the university’s 114-year history. “Our donors are among the most generous and supportive anywhere in the nation,” YSU President Jim Tressel said. The record year is the latest in a string of fundraising successes. In fiscal year 2014, the year before Tressel was named president, YSU raised $6.1 million.
