Privately Owned Housing Options

Youngstown State University has partnered with College Pads to improve the experience of finding and moving into on- and off-campus housing. College Pads provides YSU students with an educational tool to help them prepare to review leases, compare campus housing options, rent from high-rated landlords, find roommates and even sublet your existing units. This is a one-stop shop for housing at YSU.

While the University has relationships with the owners and managers of each property, none of these properties are owned or operated by the University. Therefore, if a student enters into a lease agreement with one of these properties, the University cannot interfere for any reason, including, but not limited to, assisting with the cancellation of a lease should a student want to vacate the property prior to the end of the lease agreement.

Please note that some of these properties do not exclusively lease to Youngstown State University students. Therefore, other tenants of the same building or complex may not be fellow students. 

Two privately owned and operated student housing facilities are situated on university land: University Edge and The Enclave. Other properties are located adjacent to campus or in neighboring communities. Please use the College Pads map to evaluate the distance between properties and campus. We encourage students and families to fully inspect the properties prior to signing any lease agreement. We also strongly encourage students and families to thoroughly review any lease agreement before signing said lease agreement.
