Art, Music programs offer events for prospective students Oct. 9, 16

Prospective students interested in studying Music or Art at Youngstown State University are invited to two events in October:

  • “Find Your Passion: YSU Art Day,” an event designed for high school students to explore university studies in Art, will be 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, in Bliss Hall. Hosted by the YSU Department of Art, the event allows students interested in pursuing Studio Art or Art Education to meet with department faculty, visit studios and learn what it is like to be a YSU art student. The free event also includes lunch and a visit to the McDonough Museum of Art. To register, visit www.ysu.edu/artday.
  • The YSU Dana School of Music hosts a Fall Open House, Wednesday, Oct. 16, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the first floor lobby of Bliss Hall. Students will have the opportunity to experience a day at Dana by meeting professors and current students, sitting in on vocal and instrumental ensemble rehearsals and attending classes and recitals. Students should bring their musical instruments with them as there may be time to participate in a variety of ensemble rehearsals.
