The Office of Associate Degree and Tech Prep Programs

Welcome to the Office of Associate Degree and Tech Prep Programs. The mission of the Office of Associate Degree and Tech Prep Programs is to facilitate the success of students. This is accomplished through the outreach and marketing of associate (2 year) degree programs and academic programming and services that will result in the enrollment, retention, and graduation from associate degree and other degree options at Youngstown State University.

Preparing students to succeed in a rapidly changing 21st century global society and economy has been the goal of Youngstown State University since we developed our associate degree programs.  Our associate degree programs are designed to prepare students for both today and tomorrow’s careers.

If students want to earn a good living in the 21st century information and knowledge age, education after high school is critical. More and more high paying jobs depend on the skills and knowledge that education after high school can provide. We are living in a world where what you earn is directly related to what you learn.

Whether you’re just beginning your college education or are seeking additional skill training, our academic programs prepare you for a career in numerous fields leading to an associate’s degree.

Each of our programs combines the practical and the theoretical, giving you the kind of hands-on learning that will create a seamless transfer to our baccalaureate programs and the professional world. Our faculty members are not only recognized for their contribution in their field, they’re caring and engaging instructors dedicated to their students.

Our courses reflect what’s happening every day in corporate offices, advanced manufacturing and engineering facilities, health care industries, and IT businesses locally, regionally, nationally, and around the world.

Most of our two-year associate degree programs provide transition directly into four-year bachelor’s degree programs without duplication of coursework or loss of credits upon graduation (2+2 program).

Preparing for your future begins with the associate degree programs at Youngstown State University.
