Charge:

The Teaching and Learning Committee is responsible for: Supporting the mission of the Center for Teaching and Learning; Maintaining and communicating standards for effective teaching consistent with YSU’s mission; Making recommendations for faculty development and resources related to teaching; In accordance with the University Strategic Plan, providing advice and counsel on institutional learning outcomes and in relation to experiential learning.

PROPOSED CHANGES TO CHARGE:

Composition:

1-2 full-time faculty member representative from each undergraduate college (2 year terms, staggered), A representative of the Center for Teaching and Learning (1 year term, renewable each year), 2 administrators appointed by the Provost, and 1-2 student appointed by SGA (1 year term, renewable each year)

MEMBERSHIP Term:

All appointments are for two years and can be renewed for a total of 3 consecutive terms. After this time, a committee member must sit out at least one term before being asked to serve again. Each term begins August 15.
