Fall 2020 Commencement Information

Dear Fellow Penguins,

I hope all of you are experiencing a productive and healthy Fall semester.

As you know, we have taken several steps to make campus safe during this Covid-19 pandemic, and you are to be commended for your efforts. Classes, events, activities and facilities all look different with one priority – keeping everyone safe.

With that in mind, we have announced that Fall Commencement, like Spring Commencement in May, will again be a virtual ceremony. We would love nothing more than to celebrate with our graduates and their guests in person. The current climate of uncertainty, however, makes that impossible.

The virtual ceremony will be held on the planned commencement date: Sunday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m.  Other details are still developing. Be sure to check this web page for updates.

Good luck with the rest of the semester. Let’s finish strong. Thanks for your perseverance in these unprecedented times. Take care and stay healthy.

Brien Smith,

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Note: As is the case with all commencements, diplomas will be mailed six to eight weeks after the graduation date. You will receive tracking information via your YSU email address when your diploma has been shipped
