CourseLeaf SYL Blackboard Import Issue

We are currently aware of an issue in CourseLeaf SYL affecting the Blackboard integration. Faculty who attempt to import Assignments/Assessments from Blackboard into the CourseLeaf SYL System. The Schedule of Topics section may receive an error, or the imported assessment information may not display correctly. (see screen shot below)

Who is affected:
YSU faculty using the Blackboard import option within the CourseLeaf SYL System.

Recommended workaround:
Until the issue is resolved, faculty have two options:

  1. Wait for the issue to be fixed
You may wait until the Blackboard integration issue has been resolved before importing assignments/assessments into the Schedule of Topics section.  Syllabus Due Date for Faculty is Monday August 17, 2026
  2. Manually Enter Assessment Information

(This option is available only if you have not linked your Blackboard course.)

Once a Blackboard course has been linked to the syllabus, manual entry of assessment information is no longer available. If you wish to manually enter assessment details after linking Blackboard, you must delete the existing syllabus and create a new one.

When creating the new syllabus, do not use the Blackboard integration. Instead, manually enter assessment titles, due dates, point values, and any other related details directly in the Assignments/Assessments and Schedule of Topics sections of the syllabus.

CourseLeaf SYL Date issue in the Schedule of Topics section

We are currently aware of an issue in CourseLeaf SYL affecting the Blackboard integration with the Schedule of Topics section. Some faculty may notice that dates that are imported after the Blackboard integration are displayed in the wrong weeks or area of the Schedule of Topics. This may cause course schedule information to appear misaligned or confusing. (see screenshot below)

YSU faculty using the Blackboard import option within the CourseLeaf SYL System.
