Participate in the Virtual Student Leadership Retreat LIVE on Friday, January 8, 2021, or On Demand starting on Monday, January 11! You will have the opportunity to attend live, web-based sessions from a variety of different presenters exploring topics that will be helpful to jump start your student organization for the semester.
Each organization must have two members attend the program in order for the organization to be eligible for Student Government Association (SGA) Funding. At least one member MUST attend the SGA Financial Appropriations Session and each member must attend a minimum of three session and the keynote speaker no later than no later than Friday, January 15, 2021. Attendance during live sessions will be verified by WebEx usage reports. Please login using your YSU credentials. Students viewing recorded sessions will be required to submit a form upon completion of the session.
Below is the agenda from Friday's program. In each time slot you'll find a list of sessions that were offered and a brief description of what was discussed. To receive credit for viewing the video, you MUST complete the form attached to the end of EACH video you view. This session will also inform student leaders of important components of the Financial Path as they relate to their student organization. Without question, student leaders will walk away with the knowledge of how to take advantage of the opportunities SGA funding can provide for their group’s success.

You've probably heard the name before, but do you know what Title IX actually is? And what the law requires of a university? This session will give an overview of how the university classifies sex or gender based harrassment and discrimination and sexual misconduct- the things that Title IX prohibits- and how the university responds to reports of this type of behavior. We'll close with a discussion about how you as a student and student leader can help change the campus culture and promote awareness around sexual misconduct and sexual violence.

Leading is hard; doing it without fear is even harder! After reading thousands of students’ written fears, Darryl noticed a pattern. The majority of our leaders’ concerns boiled down into four questions: Am I enough, what if I fail, what will they think, and do I have the resources to succeed? In this program, students can identify their fears in leading fully and see the similarities with their peers in an engaging LIVE or Virtual program. In both formats, students leave more connected with their fellow student leaders and more empowered to take risks to leave a positive legacy.
Learning Outcomes: As a result of attending this program, students will learn:
