Bio

Sina Bakhtar Chavari joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at Youngstown State University in August 2025 after completing a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at YSU. He earned both his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering before joining the Electrical Engineering faculty. His research focuses on additive manufacturing and energy-storage materials, particularly 3D-printed sodium-ion batteries and solid polymer electrolytes for in-space and on-surface fabrication using in-situ resource utilization

Research Interests

• Additive manufacturing
• Batteries
• Renewable energy
• Composite materials
• Smart grid
• Wearable biomedical devices

Teaching Interests

I am passionate about teaching courses at the intersection of electrical engineering and materials science, with an emphasis on hands-on, project-based learning that prepares students for research and industry. I enjoy supervising laboratory work, guiding student design projects.
