Bio


Laura J. Dewberry is an award-winning, full-time faculty member in the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, OH. Dewberry has served in the role of Director, Center for Nonprofit Leadership and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management and Marketing since August 2009. In 2021, she was the recipient of the YSU Distinguished Professorship Award in Service. In 2022, the Student Nonprofit Leadership Organization (SNLO) received the Orion Award for Outstanding YSU Student Organization. L. Dewberry is the long-standing faculty advisor for SNLO.

The Center for Nonprofit Leadership coordinates the nonprofit leadership academic program at YSU, which includes a certificate and minor that can be combined with any major. This diverse and robust program combines academic coursework with co-curricular experiential learning. These experiences for students include the Pay It Forward: Student Philanthropy Initiative, participation in consulting projects delivering solutions to real-world organizational challenges, part-time and full-time internships (some externally funded), shadow experiences with nonprofit professionals, and volunteerism.
