Hailong Jiang, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at Youngstown State University. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Kent State University. His research lies at the intersection of compilers, machine learning, and high-performance computing, with a focus on using large language models (LLMs) to enhance program analysis, compiler optimization, and intermediate representation (IR) reasoning.
Dr. Jiang’s work explores LLM-guided semantic lifting, MLIR/LLVM-based optimization, quantum intermediate representations (QIR), and edge-AI systems. He is actively developing large-scale datasets and verification-in-the-loop frameworks to support trustworthy AI-assisted compilation. His research has been published in peer-reviewed venues and supported by ongoing grant proposal efforts to the National Science Foundation and other agencies.
At YSU, Dr. Jiang teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in operating systems, computer architecture, data structures, and information systems. He is committed to research-informed teaching and actively involves students in course-embedded research, capstone projects, and honors contracts.
