Bio

Dr. Brauer’s teaching centers on helping students apply marketing concepts to the kinds of decisions they will face in professional settings. In the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University, she teaches Marketing Concepts and Practice, B2B Marketing, and Product and Brand Management. Her courses use case analysis, projects, and marketing plan development to connect classroom learning with real business practice. She has also taught a wider range of marketing and communication courses, including consumer behavior, marketing research, social media marketing, integrated marketing communications, startup marketing promotions, and business communication.
Her research focuses on consumer behavior, sales culture, and customer value co-creation. Recent work has appeared in the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management and the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice. Her coauthored research has also been presented or accepted for presentation at conferences including the Society for Marketing Advances, the Association for Consumer Research, and the Global Sales Science Institute.
Before joining Youngstown State University, Dr. Brauer taught at West Virginia University and worked across marketing, communications, and education. Her industry experience includes integrated campaign development, analytics-informed audience targeting, and coordination between marketing and sales. She began her career teaching English in Pennsylvania public schools, where she developed a foundation in clear communication, student support, and applied learning. Across these roles, she has built a teaching approach grounded in professional practice, practical application, and student development.​​
