How to Use Advanced Search to Find General Education Courses

When registering for classes via the Penguin Portal, you can use the Advanced Search option to find classes that meet the General Education requirements for your program of study.

1. Log in to the Penguin Portal, then click the "Student Dashboard" card.

2. Under the Registration heading, select "Register for Classes."

3. Select the "Register for Classes" link.

4. Select the appropriate term from the drop-down menu, then click the "Continue" button.

5. Select "Advanced Search" to access additional search criteria.

6. Click the "Attribute" search box to view the available General Education attributes.

7. Select the desired attribute, then click the "Search" button to view available courses.

8. Once you find a course for which you would like to register, click the "Add" button.

9. The course you selected will be listed in the summary box at the bottom of the screen and the status will say "pending." To finalize your registration, click the green "Submit" button in the bottom right-hand corner.
