PortalHOW-TO: Register for Classes on Mobile Device
All current undergraduate and graduate students register for classes via the Penguin Portal. Review the instructions below to process your registration on a mobile device.
Contact the Penguin Service Center at (330) 941-6000 or onestop@ysu.edu for registration assistance; the office is on the second floor of Meshel Hall.
1. Open your mobile device's browser and enter "ysu.edu"
2. Select the drop-down menu in the top right corner, click the"Portal" button, and sign in to your Penguin Portal.
3. Once logged in, click the "Student Dashboard" card.
4. Under the Registration heading, click "Register for Classes."
5. Select the "Register for Classes" link.
6. Select the appropriate term from the drop-down menu, then click the "Continue" button.
7. Click the "Panels" button in the bottom-left corner to begin searching for classes.
8. Click in the subject box for the drop-down menu of subjects to appear. Choose the subject of the class you are looking for. You may also enter the course number in the appropriate field if you know it. Then, click the "Search" button.
9. Once you find a course for which you would like to register, click the "Add" button.
- Click the drop-down arrow next to the title of the class to see more information, including the part of term, instructor, meeting times, and instructional method.
10. To finalize your registration, click the green "Submit" button in the bottom right-hand corner.
