Federal Loan and Service Information

National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)

A loan servicer is a company that handles the billing and other services for your federal student loans. Students can access all of their federal student loan history and information, including contact information for their loan servicer, through the U.S Department of Education's National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS). The NSLDS receives data from schools and agencies that guaranty loans, the Direct Loan program, the Pell Grant program, and other programs. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, students can use the web site to make inquiries about their Title IV loans and/or Pell grants. The site displays information on loan and/or grant amounts, outstanding balances, loan statuses, and disbursements. In order to use the NSLDS Student Access Web site, you will need to provide your social security number (SSN), the first two letters of your last name, your date of birth, and your PIN (formerly known as EAC).
