Ten Youngstown State University students recently attend the Society of Petroleum Engineers Eastern Regional Meeting at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia, with Vahid Atashbari, assistant professor in the Rayen School of Engineering.

The meeting brought students and professionals together for technical sessions, a student workshop, roundtable discussions and an industry panel. Its program addressed topics including drilling and completions, production engineering, reservoir simulations, and underground natural gas storage and carbon capture, utilization and storage.

Participation gave YSU students an opportunity to engage with current technical topics and learn about work across the petroleum engineering field.
