YSU’s ADN program receives full approval by the Ohio Board of Nursing
The Associate Degree (ADN) in Nursing program in the Centofanti School of Nursing at Youngstown State University admitted its first cohort in Fall, 2022. Just this past March, the program underwent a scheduled approval visit from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
According to the Ohio Board of Nursing’s website, the board “regulates nursing education programs in Ohio that prepare students for initial licensure as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. The Board accomplishes this regulation by assuring that new and existing programs meet and maintain the requirements set forth in Chapter 4723- 5 Ohio Administrative Code, as evidenced by the Board’s granting of its approval.”
Following the visit, the ADN program received notice that it was granted full approval by the Ohio Board of Nursing, an approval granted by the Board to a program that meets and continues to comply with the requirements of Chapter 4723-5 Ohio Administrative Code. The approval will remain for a period of five years.
Students from the initial cohort graduated in May 2024.
