YSU Pins, Who's Who, Presidential Mentors, others honored at annual Student Awards Banquet

Dozens of students, student organizations and support staff members will be honored at the annual Youngstown State University Student Awards Banquet 6 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center. The event is sponsored by Student Government, Student Affairs and Student Activities. Student and organizational awards, Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, Student Affairs and Student Government Association awards will be presented. Some of the highlighted awards include the AVI Leadership Scholarships, Hirsch-Satrum Leadership Scholarships, Emerging Leader Program recognition, Student Government’s passing of the gavel to the incoming president and vice president, Presidential Mentors. In addition, YSU Pin Awards will be presented. Since 1948, the Pin Award has been a distinguished part of YSU’s tradition. The award recognizes up to five graduating seniors annually who have achieved academic success and demonstrated outstanding leadership, motivation and creativity in university and community activities.
