Youngstown State University will host a Constitution Day Candidate Forum 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in Bliss Hall’s Ford Theater on the YSU campus.
Sponsored by YSU’s Student Government Association, the forum will provide candidates with an opportunity to introduce themselves and share information about their platforms with attendees.
The event is being held in recognition of Constitution Day. Constitution Day is observed annually Sept. 17 to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787. The forum provides an opportunity for members of the campus and surrounding community to hear directly from candidates and learn more about their platforms.
Each candidate will have three minutes to speak during the forum. Following their remarks, candidates will have an opportunity to speak individually with attendees and distribute campaign literature in the lobby outside Ford Theater.
The Candidate Forum is free and open to the public. Community members attending the event should park in the Wick Avenue parking deck. There is a $5 fee to park.
Earlier in the day, YSU SGA and Student Activities will be joined by three outside organizations for Constitution Day and voter registration activities across campus. These activities are intended for YSU students only.
