YSU cellist featured in Muse Series concert
Cellist Kivie Cahn-Lipman, a faculty member in YSU’s Dana School of Music, performs the first virtual concert of the McDonough Museum of Art’s 2021 Muse Series 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13.
The recital will be pre-recorded and premiere on both the McDonough Museum and Cliffe College YouTube channels.
The Muse Series features innovative expressions of contemporary culture, serving to enrich Northeast Ohio with recitals of groundbreaking new music and dynamic collaborations.
Cahn-Lipman, who holds degrees from Oberlin and Juilliard and received his doctorate from the University of Cincinnati, is the founding cellist of the International Contemporary Ensemble, with which he performs regularly, as well as founder, lironist and director of the baroque string band ACRONYM and gambist with the viol consort LeStrange. He appears on more than 40 recordings.
As a chamber musician, he has performed frequently in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and other major venues on four continents.
