Wellness for Life speaker series to focus on home safety

Youngstown State University’s Wellness for Life speaker series will present “Safety at Home: How to Stay Home Longer and Safer” 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 14 at the Girard Multi-Generational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., Girard.

The free community event will feature Nancy Landgraff, professor and chair of the department of Graduate Studies in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, who will lead an interactive session focused on helping individuals maintain safety, independence and confidence in their homes.

During the one-hour presentation, Landgraff will share practical strategies to reduce fall risks, identify common household hazards and make simple adjustments that can significantly improve safety and mobility. The session is designed for individuals who live alone, with family members or caregivers and want to remain safely in their homes longer.

The Wellness for Life Speaker Series promotes health education and wellness awareness through expert-led programs offered to the community.
