Steel Museum hosts roundtable; opens new exhibit

Hearing Our Voices: Discovering Black YoungstownThe Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor, the Steel Museum, host two events Thursday, Feb. 23.

A roundtable discussion, “Working with Memory,” featuring faculty from four YSU academic units at 4 p.m., followed by the opening of a new exhibit, “Hearing Our Voices: Discovering Black Youngstown,” at 5:30 p.m.

The new exhibit was developed by YSU students in the Fall 2022 Museum Curation class.

Refreshments will be provided. The roundtable, exhibit and reception were funded by a generous gift from the Charles Darling Memorial Endowment in History.

The Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor, which is a site of the Ohio History Connection and operated by YSU’s Applied History program, is located at 151 W. Wood St. in downtown Youngstown.
