Sororities and fraternities show off talents in annual Greek Sing

For the 64th consecutive year, Youngstown State University fraternity and sorority students show off their singing and dancing talents at the annual Greek Sing a musical variety show set for 6 p.m. Saturday, April 9, in Stambaugh Auditorium on Fifth Avenue just north of campus.The event is open to the public, and admission is free.The competition, started in 1952, is the culmination of all YSU Greek activities for the academic year and will include group performances and open class performances. This year’s theme is “The 90s.”The event features last year’s defending champs, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, singing a medley of selections including “Piano Man,” “It’s Raining Men,” and “Sharp Dressed Man,” among others. Last year’s sorority champions, Alpha Xi Delta, will feature “One Night Only,” “A Hard Day’s Night,” and “Marry the Night,” just to name a few.Other chapters participating this year include fraternities Alpha Phi Delta, Sigma Chi, Sigma Tau Gamma and Tau Kappa Epsilon. Additionally, sorority performances will include Alpha Omicron Pi, Delta Zeta and Zeta Tau Alpha.The event is sponsored by YSU Greek Life, PepsiCo and YSU Student Government.For more information, contact Carrie Anderson at 330-941-3575.
