Noted jazz trio performs on campus

The Donald P. Pipino Performing Arts Series at Youngstown State University continues with the Vijay Iyer Trio 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, in the Chestnut Room at YSU’s Kilcawley Center.

The Vijay Iyer Trio, which DownBeat magazine deemed the Jazz Group of the Year, boasts four acclaimed and influential albums, including “Accelerando,” voted #1 Jazz Album of the Year. Iyer has won Artist of the Year four times, the ECHO Award (the “German Grammy”) for best international pianist and was named a MacArthur Foundation “Genius” Fellow. 

Adult tickets are $20. Special rate tickets are $15 for non-YSU students, YSU faculty and staff with valid ID, YSU alums, senior citizens, Penguin Club members and groups of eight or more.
