Night at the Races June 28 benefits female student athletes

Youngstown State University Athletics hosts its third annual Night at the Races Friday, June 28, to benefit female student-athlete sport teams and scholarships.

The event at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield, begins 6 p.m. with dinner with the first race at 7 p.m. and the last race at 9 p.m. Participants can support women athletics by:

• $40 to sponsor a horse, with a 10 percent chance to win $80. Your horse sponsorship will go directly to the sport program you designate.
• $25 for casual dinner experience and an evening of horseracing and Penguin fellowship.
• $20 to bet $2 per race for 10 races.

There will also be a 50/50 raffle and a gift basket auction.
