First NEA Our Town meeting July 19

The public is invited to attend the first meeting for the National Endowment for the Arts’ Our Town grant, INPLACE, 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 19 at the Youngstown Business Incubator, 241 W. Federal Street, Youngstown.

The project support group will be presenting information and guidelines for participation in the project.

INPLACE stands Innovative Plan for Leveraging Arts through Community Engagement and is a place-based approach for art and design in Youngstown. It is funded through a $100,000 grant to Youngstown State University by NEA.

The project will use a dynamic approach to the planning, design and utilization of public spaces in Youngstown, with the intention of creating grounded public spaces that promote health, happiness and well being.

Our Town grants fund arts engagement, cultural planning and design projects. Their programs support creative placemaking projects that help to transform communities into lively, beautiful, and resilient places with the arts at their core.
