Jewish Studies scholar talks at Steel Museum Oct. 24

Lior Sternfeld, author of “Between Iran and Zion: Jewish Histories of Twentieth-Century Iran,” lectures 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Youngstown Historical Center of Labor and Industry (Steel Museum), sponsored by the Center for Judaic and Holocaust Studies at Youngstown State University.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

Sternfeld is an assistant professor of History and Jewish Studies at Penn State University and a social historian of the modern Middle East, with particular interests in the histories of Jews and other minorities. His book examines the development of Iran’s Jewish communities against the backdrop of Iranian nationalism, Zionism and constitutionalism.
