"Failing Forward" lectures start this week

The first in a series of free virtual lectures designed to inspire students to learn and grow from their experiences is 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, via Webex.

The series, hosted by the Youngstown State University Honors College, is titled “Failing Forward,” and the first lecture features YSU Honors alumna Dr. Jamie Marich, founder and operator of Mindful Ohio and the Institute for Creative Mindfulness.

Marich, who earned a bachelor’s degree in American Studies and History from YSU in 2000, began her career as a humanitarian aid worker in Bosnia-Hercegovina, primarily teaching English and music while freelancing with other projects. She also has worked as a counselor at PsyCare Inc., Glenbeigh Hospital of Rock Creek and Community Solutions Association. She also holds a master’s degree in Counseling from Franciscan University of Steubenville and a PhD in Human Services from Capella University.
