From classroom to gallery: YSU Art department Freshmen debut work in Public Portfolio Showcase

The Youngstown State University Department of Art explores the work of its freshmen art students as they exhibit as part of the Freshman Portfolio Review Showcase.

An opening reception takes place Noon - 2 p.m., Monday, April 13, on the fourth floor of YSU’s Bliss Hall.  The exhibition will be on display until April 24.

Freshmen students in the Department of Art are required to complete a Freshman Seminar and Portfolio Review course, in which they learn about being creative professionals and strategies for critical thinking, writing, and research skills. The course culminates in this public showcase, fostering community engagement and giving art students a chance to receive feedback from faculty on their work.

Students participating in this exhibit include Drew Bowles, Braylon Cole, Adele Colonna, Ryan Conley, Marc Crawford, Bridget Elliott, Tran Ho, JoAnna Ladd, Olivia Lehman, Jayden May, Nevaeh McBride, Darah McKinney, John Mosko, Sumara Myers, Joshua Rivera, Addison Rodenbaugh, Ellianna Volpini, Zane Weaver, Gavin Wheeler, Allison Young and Quintin Zagotti.

Entry to this event is free and open to the public. Parking is available at the Wick Avenue Deck (M30) for a $5 fee payable in cash only.
