Beta Gamma Sigma honorary inducts 49 new members

YSU students inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma

Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business Administration recently installed 49 students into the YSU chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, the world’s premier business honorary.

Beta Gamma SigmaBeta Gamma Sigma is comprised of more than 900,000 members in all 50 states and more than 190 countries. While nearly 350,000 students receive bachelors or master's degrees in business each year, only about 25,000 are inducted into a lifetime membership in Beta Gamma Sigma. Student members must be registered in business administration programs and be candidates for the baccalaureate or master’s degree. Students ranking in the top 10 percent of the sophomore, junior or senior classes or the top 20 percent of the master's program are eligible.

YSU students installed include:

  • Juniors: Kamden Batchik (Marketing), Edward Boczar (Finance), Dylan Brown (Finance with a minor in Entrepreneurship), Haley Dorion (Human Resource Management with a minor in Marketing), Grace Economus (Accounting), Lexie Gentry (Human Resource Management), Mandy McIntosh (Accounting), Jordan Miller (Accounting), Jared Pfister (Management), Alexander Price (Finance), Olivia Robinson (Finance), Hunter Stoots (Business Administration), Ashely Thompson (Accounting), and Isaac Thompson (Management with a minor in Marketing).

In addition to the students, Omer Genc, associate professor of Management and Marketing, was inducted as a faculty member.

Lisa Metzinger was the keynote speaker and chapter honoree. She is Partner at Cohen & Co. She serves on the business advisory board at Williamson College of Business Administration, Honors College Advisory Board at YSU and Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation. She was awarded with YSU’s Williamson College of Business Administration Outstanding M.B.A. Alumna in 2019.

This year represents the 24th induction class for the Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter at YSU. It has now inducted 1,081 students. This year’s BGS student officers are President Annabelle Himes along with Vice Presidents Corinne Daniels, Kaitlyn Helt, Rebecca Catlos and Cassandra Snopik. Jeong Hoon Choi is the chapter advisor.
