Position Title: Facility Graduate Associate

 

Position Description:

  • This position will assume a leadership and supervisory role with the undergraduate facility staff and have responsibilities with facility management, overall organization and administration of daily operations of Andrews Student Recreation & Wellness Center.
  • The leadership role will include the coordination and implementation of all student staff trainings; semester all staff training, semester area specific trainings, semester new hire trainings, make-up trainings, First Aid & CPR trainings as well as those trainings scheduled on an as needed basis. 
  • This position will organize, lead, and coordinate all the student staff's recognition and evaluation processes. 
  • Act as the lead for setting up the department hiring dates, which occur each spring semester. 
  • Responsible for facility needs evaluations (inventory, maintenance, lost and found), creation of staff schedule and subbing procedures, setting expectations, scheduling and implementation for facility cleaning and preventative maintenance.
  • This position also assists in the following: maintaining cleaning equipment, tracking supplies and placing requests for these supplies.
  • Other duties include but not limited to assisting with the management of the controlled access and equipment issue tracking systems, management of email subscriptions list, responding to emergencies and situations of conflict as needed, completing and reviewing staff incident forms, ensuring safety and security of the facility, providing information about building hours, policies, procedures and programs, assisting with department computer needs and inputting work orders.
  • Candidates must also adhere to daily office hours, participate in weekend on-call, assist with front office as needed, and other duties as assigned.
  • Start date and summer work are negotiable upon acceptance of an offer. (Summer start preferred)

Pay Rate:

$15.00 per hour, 20 - 25 hours per week.

This is a position where the student is hired as a student assistant, but the divisional rate of pay must be at least $15.00 per hour in bi-weekly installments from the actual start date. These Graduate students should be in a supervisory role and/or take on more complicated projects and initiatives for the department. Students must maintain enrollment in at least 18 semester hours of degree-credit course work for the regular academic year, and no fewer than 6 semester hours of degree-credit course work for any one semester. Approval is required to carry more than 12 semester hours or fewer than 6 semester hours in each of the fall and spring semesters. These students may work up to 25 hours per week.

All letters of appointment or removal of appointment will come from the Vice President for Student Experience and a copy of the letter will be forwarded to the Office Student Success and Human Resources.
