Cookies and Cocoa

Prospective students and their guests are invited to warm up your winter break with Cookies & Cocoa with Honors! We will be hosting these events on December 16 from 12 PM - 2 PM, December 18 from 2 PM - 4 PM, and January 2 from 1 PM - 4 PM in Cafaro House (205 Madison Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio)

Come enjoy sweet treats and good company as you meet our honors family of students, faculty, and staff. Join us on campus for a cozy conversation about life in the Honors College and how you can become part of our community.

Students should sign up here and indicate the number of guests who may be joining them.

Evening with Honors (virtual opportunity)

Interested in learning what it's like to be an honors student at Youngstown State University? Spend "An Evening with Honors" on Thursday, January 15 at 6 PM! This is your opportunity to interact with current honors students, staff, and professors in a small virtual group setting. We can help answer your questions about attending YSU, becoming a part of our honors community, or getting prepped for college. We also want to learn more about you, our future Penguins! Afternoon with Honors (virtual opportunity)

Spend the afternoon with YSU Sokolov Honors College faculty, staff, and students on Wednesday, April 1 at 4 PM. Learn more about the honors and YSU experience and get answers to your questions. Register to attend here.

BaccMed Camp 2026

Prospective students interested in learning more about early assurance pathway options to medical, dental, and podiatry school are invited to attend YSU BaccMed Camp 2026. Join us Tuesday, June 16 from 8:30 AM - 3 PM to learn more.  Students will have the chance to tour campus, meet students, faculty, and staff from YSU and partner schools. PENGUIN PREVIEW DAY

Penguin Preview Day is a one-stop shop for all things YSU. Explore buildings and classes, talk to professors and students, and learn about majors and offerings — all on your own terms. Don't forget to stop by and meet our honors staff and students as well! Find more information and register here.
