BSAS in Criminal Justice - Admissions Information

Admission requirements for the online BSAS in Criminal Justice completion program are as follows:

  • completion of an associate's degree or its equivalent (e.g., 60 credit hours)
  • a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher
  • submission of an official transcript from the transferring institution
  • Introduction to Criminal Justice and at least one lower level course in Policy, Courts, or Corrections. An exception can be offered to students who begin summer term.

The Department of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences expects its majors and students enrolled in its courses to engage in legal, ethical, professional, and civil behavior which respects the rights of all persons. Disruptive and inappropriate behavior (as defined in department, college, or University policy) may result in non-acceptance into or removal from the Department as a major or an an enrolled student in one of its courses. YSU requires a 2.0 overall GPA in order to graduate.
