This sample rubric is designed to be used for written answers to questions and/or discussion board posts that respond to a question posed by the instructor. It was developed at YSU and can be used verbatim in YSU courses.

**LEVELS OF ACHIEVEMENT**

Content (Weight 80%)	Did not answer question or gave a very brief, superficial answer, such as “I agree with that.”	References are not made to facts drawn from the readings. Opinions are presented, but not references to facts or substantive arguments.	Few references are made to facts drawn from the readings. Some arguments are made relevant to facts that are referenced.	Some references are made to facts drawn from the readings. Quality arguments are made relevant to facts that are referenced.	Multiple references are made to facts drawn from the readings.
