Volunteer Availability Form

We were contacted by the Mahoning County Public Health Commissioner with a very specific need for volunteers. They are experiencing a bottleneck in the vaccination process getting the pre-registered clients scheduled each week based on the amount of vaccine they receive. Their wish is to expand their scheduling center staff and hope to have 6 volunteers a day intermingled with their team to help assist in scheduling appointments.

The scheduling center is very busy and the volunteers must have an undivided attention to scheduling during their hours of work.  It would be ideal to have the same group of volunteers who can commit to working during the week and take direction from their team lead at the call center each day.

Operating hours for the center are from 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday, with additional shifts over the weekend. The weekend shifts are subject to change based on the amount of appointments needed to schedule for the week and this is all dependent on the amount of vaccine allotments from ODH, which is not always consistent for each week. For example, we provide a vaccine request total on Monday for what is needed the following week, then they normally do not receive notice on what ODH will send until Wednesday or Thursday.  Sometimes it is more than they requested and sometimes it is less than their request.

Any consistent help will benefit the vaccine distribution for our community.  They are looking for volunteers that commit to at least 4-hour blocks and commit to volunteering consistently over two months.

If you are interested, fill out the form below and we’ll share it with them.  If they decide you are a good match, you’ll receive further instructions form a Mahoning County Public Health staff member.  The site is located in Austintown and you will need to have your own transportation to the volunteer site.
