Edward Sallustio is a multifaceted music professional with expertise in musicology, studio recording, sound design, and higher education. He holds a Master of Music in Studio Recording Technology from Southern Utah University and a Master of Music in Music History and Literature from Youngstown State University, where his thesis, “Scoring Masculinity in Crisis: Thomas Newman’s Sonic World and the Disintegration of the Indiewood Male,” explored gender and film music. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory from YSU.
As the owner/operator of The Immersionarium, a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos studio, Edward specializes in immersive audio production, ADR, Foley, and both live and virtual instrument recording. He is proficient in Pro Tools, Nuendo, and Logic Pro, and brings this technical expertise to his work as a freelance composer and sound designer for independent films and documentaries, including American Debt and The How and the Why by Damon Schneider.
In academia, Edward serves as an adjunct professor at YSU’s Dana School of Music, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in music history and audio music production. He designed the school’s first distance education course on film music and has contributed to academic service through lecture series, committee work, and editorial projects, including copyediting for Routledge. Additionally, Edward works as an academic coach supporting online instruction. His combined experience bridges critical analysis, creative production, and technical execution in music and sound.
