Students, faculty and alumni from Youngstown State University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program recently participated in the Ohio Physical Therapy Association Spring Conference, where they presented research, engaged in professional development and networked with peers from across the state.
A total of 42 YSU DPT students, faculty members and alumni attended the conference, reflecting the program’s continued emphasis on research, experiential learning and professional engagement.
Hosted annually, the Ohio Physical Therapy Association Spring Conference is a premier event for physical therapy professionals and students across the state, offering educational sessions, networking opportunities and access to the latest developments in clinical practice and research.
Among the presenters were YSU DPT graduates Rachel Ward and Jenna Troxil, who highlighted their dissertation research. Both are continuing their studies in Youngstown State University’s Ph.D. in Health Sciences program.
Troxil presented “Diagnostic Accuracy of Ultrasound for Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness: A Review of Imaging and Laboratory Comparisons,” while Ward presented “Outpatient Physical Therapists’ Vital Sign Assessment Practices Post-COVID-19 Pandemic: A Cross-Sectional Survey.”
The conference provided an opportunity for participants to share research, stay current with developments in the field and build professional connections within the physical therapy community.
