AT&T Wi-Fi Information

Youngstown State has partnered with AT&T to deliver visitor wireless Internet access on campus through the "attwifi" wireless network. This is an unsecure wireless network and is not protected by any of the University's cyber-related safeguards. The AT&T wireless network is supported directly by AT&T. For assistance connecting to this network, please contact AT&T. AT&T Wi-Fi Technical Services Center (TSC) is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and provides answers to end-user related operational, technical, or billing questions. Support can be obtained by dialing 1-888-888-7520.

Visitors to campus may purchase AT&T access directly through the AT&T homepage, as indicated when connecting to the attwifi wireless network, or passes may be purchased in person through Kilcawley Center. A 24-hour visitor pass is $3.00.

Departments with planned group events or conferences may sponsor AT&T wifi services for all attendees, providing complimentary guest passes to their visitors. Guest passes can be ordered in any quantity (3.00 each) through the Network Telecommunications Office, a chargeback form will need to be completed to complete the ordering. Please provide a minimum of 7 business days notice for large orders to ensure AT&T Wi-Fi services have been purchased for use.

Please remember it is a violation of University Guidebook Policy #4012.01 to transmit sensitive information without encryption. The Network Security group recommends the use of the VPN service across unsecure networks to protect information. The University also supports the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility client for the iPad, a free download from iTunes.

The University provides the YSUWIRELESS wireless network for a secure connection to the YSU Network and the Internet for employees and students. The YSUWIRELESS network makes use of encryption, digital certificates, and username/password verification in an effort to safeguard users. Visitor access to the YSUWIRELESS requires a non-patron request form, which can be submitted online with a TeamDynamix Form.
