STEM K-12 Outreach Opportunities

Connect with YSU STEM

The STEM College offers so many ways for your students to engage and learn about the opportunities and majors available in the various STEM Fields. From field trips to competitions, click below to find out more about how you can connect with us!

Ways to Visit

We firmly believe that the best way to show off all that we have to offer here at YSU STEM is for you to visit us in person. With that in mind, we have reserved select Tuesdays in the Fall and Spring semesters to welcome your group of up to 30 high school students to campus. Field trips are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Visits are typically 4 hours and include:

  • An interactive welcome and science demos with Dean Steelant
  • Time learning about one of our STEM majors
  • Lunch on campus
  • Tour of the Excellence Training Center

We can typically be flexible to work with the needs of your group!

The College of STEM welcomes your elementary and middle school grades for an action-packed school visit. We can accommodate up to 100 students per day and up to 300 total students per semester, split over three days. Large school trips are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

During a typical visit, you can expect your group to be split into four smaller groups that will rotate through four separate and age-appropriate STEM-themed activities and demonstrations. Lunch is also provided. School trips require at least 4 hours of availability on campus.

If you want to get on our waiting list in the event of a cancellation, please email Emilie Brown at egbrown02@ysu.edu
