Advisory Council Executive Board Positions

President of Advisory Council

  • Oversees the operations of the advisory council
  • Facilitates meetings for advisory council general body and executive meetings
  • Assist other executive members as needed
  • Acts a s a spokesperson for advisory council to other advisory councils, campus, student organizations and departments
  • Follows up with other officers regarding position responsibilities
  • Facilitates RHA executive member recruitment in the spring
  • Demonstrates understanding of the RHA Constitution and Advisory Council Bylaws in full
  • Serves on the Resident Advisory Committee
  • Leads the edits of the advisory council bylaws
  • Promotes teamwork and positivity among executive members
  • Train newly elected officers
  • Attends all Advisory Council Meetings and RHA General Body Meeting

Programs Chair

  • Responsible for coordinating Advisory Council programs
  • Provides support to RHA, the Housing & Residence Life Office, and the Division of Student Experience with advertising information and events in a timely manner to residents
  • Serves on the RHA Signature Events Committee
  • Demonstrate understanding of the Advisory Council Bylaws
  • Train Newly elected offices
  • Attends all Advisory Council Meetings and RHA General Body Meeting

RHA Representative

  • Serves as the second in command for the Advisory Council
  • Attends Advisory Council General Body Meeting to report RHA updates
  • Attends RHA General Body Meeting to report Advisory Council updates
  • Attends Advisory Council Executive Meeting
  • Serves on the NACURH Recognition and Communication Chair
  • Demonstrate understanding of the Advisory Council Bylaws
  • Recruit Floor Representatives to attend RHA General Body Meetings
  • Serves as the publicity chair for your house to promote events for the house or RHA
  • Train newly elected officers

Business Administrator

  • Primarily responsible for communicating with Advisory Board members and other residents
  • Records meeting minutes and emails them o the Advisor to distribute to residents
  • Ensures that meeting minutes are accessible to all residents
  • Demonstrates Understanding of the Advisory Council Bylaws
  • Serves on the RHA Treasury Committee
  • Train newly elected officers
  • Attends all Advisory Council Meetings and RHA General Body Meeting

Floor Representative

  • Act as a voice for the floor
  • Serve as publicity chair for the floor to promote Housing & Residence Life, RHA, Advisory Council and RA events and programs
  • Recruit members of their floor/wing to attend meetings and programs
  • Serve on committees as necessary
  • Work with advisor and executive board members to learn outreach to students on floor and solicit input on council decisions and events

LLC Rep

  • Acts as an additional floor rep for LLC communities
  • Works closely with LLC academic partner to plan events for LLC
  • With the help of other floor reps, RA, and Housing Coordinator, encourages residents to attend LLC programs
  • Attend all Advisory council meetings
  • Works Closely with LLC House Chair
  • Act as a voice for the floor
  • Serve as publicity chair for the floor to promote Housing & Residence Life, RHA, Advisory Council and RA events and programs
  • Recruit members of their floor/wing to attend meetings and programs
  • Serve on committees as necessary
  • Work with advisor and executive board members to learn outreach to students on floor and solicit input on council decisions and events
  • Has the ability to run for LLC House Chair
  • If selected to be LLC House Chair, the LLC Rep will have the ability to run for Chair of the Living Learning Community
