The surveys conducted as part of the Academic Master Plan (AMP) process at YSU were designed to capture comprehensive insights from our academic support areas and faculty—voices essential to the success and sustainability of our institution. Each survey serves as a cornerstone for understanding the unique needs, strengths, and opportunities within YSU’s academic landscape.
The surveys aimed to explore a range of critical themes, from defining what success looks like in our academic programs to assessing faculty needs around research, teaching balance, workload, collaboration, and innovation. These responses provide the foundational data needed to prioritize initiatives, set measurable goals, and identify strategies that will best serve YSU students, faculty, and the wider community.
Feedback from our academic support areas and faculty directly shapes the AMP’s structure and direction. The expertise and perspectives shared by faculty members ensure that the AMP aligns with the realities of teaching, research, and community engagement. Meanwhile, insights from academic support areas bring focus to resources and infrastructure essential to fostering student success and operational efficiency. By grounding the AMP in these authentic, data-driven insights, we ensure it reflects the goals, values, and collaborative spirit that make YSU unique.
