Most WCBA student organizations are student chapters of national industry organizations and many provide the opportunity to travel to conferences, competitions, business visits, and build a network of professional contacts. With 11 professional student organizations to

The American Marketing Association is one of the largest professional associations for marketers. The YSU student chapter is involved with a broad range of activities, including attending the annual collegiate conference hosted by the American Marketing Association in New Orleans.

Beta Alpha Psi is an international honors society for accounting, finance and information systems students and professionals that strives to expose students to all aspects of the professions via speakers, technical meetings, visits to firms and companies, an annual banquet and attendance at regional and national conferences. BAP members also present relevant topics to university and community audiences.

Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive. Only schools accredited by AACSB International, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (approximately 5%) are eligible to have a chapter. Each year, students in the top 10 percent of the sophomore, junior, or senior classes or the top 20 percent of the graduating master’s class are invited to join this organization.

The YSU Economics Club welcomes students of any major who are interested in exploring economic issues all around us. During our club events, we explore economic topics in more detail through roundtable discussions with faculty, we learn about the large variety of careers in economics through guest speaker events, and we engage in the community with service-oriented activities. We partner with Omicron Delta Epsilon, the International Honor Society in Economics, to honor outstanding students at our annual banquet.

The Institute of Management Accountants is the world’s largest association of management
accountants and financial managers. The WCBA chapter hosts guest speakers and engages
in volunteer activities as well as attends various regional and national conferences. All

The International Business Organization (IBO) at YSU is open to all current students and helps students gain an understanding of the many aspects of International Business and provide opportunities and resources about the global business landscape. The world is becoming connected now more than ever. 95% of consumers are outside of the United States. The IBO at YSU has decided to be at the forefront of this global landscape. Organizational goals are to Lead, Learn, and Network through International Business. IBO strives to promote a greater understanding of international business and global issues through speakers, social events, site visits, competitions, volunteering opportunities, etc.

The WCBA student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) supports students in the SHRM-certified human resource curriculum by providing leadership and professional development opportunities. Members of the Student Investment Fund manage a stock portfolio with a value currently near $2.4 million. They also learn from regional investing professionals during their weekly meetings in the Financial Services Lab. SIF is open to all YSU students interested in

This student group is for those interested in making a difference in the community. SNLO provides professional nonprofit management experiences through site visits and presentations from local organizations, as well as an opportunity to participate in regional consulting projects. Members also implement fund-raising events to sustain the “Pay It Forward” Initiative where grant funding is awarded to local nonprofit organizations each year. Group community service projects are also planned. Academic credit is available for participation as meetings are held in conjunction with the Nonprofit Community Services course. Those students seeking the Nonprofit Leadership minor and/or certificate are encouraged to b active participants in the organization. Membership is open to students of all majors.
